I started using Loom and got offered to use the Pro version. It's been great for creating everything from all out webinars to quickie videos to show my designers how to make a change or a project. Overall a really solid piece of software that has been added to my stack.

Pros:

Really fast and easy to use. Lightweight resource for people who make a lot of videos and need to share them quickly.

Cons:

A few competitors offer better features.

@_shahedk I've played with Loom a bit and absolutely love the product. How do you think about your thesis relative to other video-first products like vidyard or vimeo?
Joe Thomas
Hey @jeremykovac! Great question. I would bucket Loom as a "video-first product" as well. The distinction I would draw between what companies like Vidyard, Wistia, and Vimeo are working on is that they're video *distribution* platform where as Loom is a video *communication* platform. Video distribution platforms tend to focus on content that has a marketing orientation (evergreen, high quality, high volume views) where as Loom is hyper focused on day-to-day workplace communication across all departments.

Maybe an option to switch off the facecam for a short segment and then come back to it later - all within the same recordng? Perhaps it can do this already....I need to explore a bit more!
