This is awesome. I’m in LA now so have a car but used to live in DC and this would’ve been so helpful there. I had so many disastrous Zipcar experiences...

Love the idea! One of the main reasons why rental cars are usually such a shitty experience is because the pickup is such a hassle. Kyte solves this beautifully. Can’t wait to try it out the next time I need a car!

Just out of curiosity, Enterprise built their company on the slogan "we'll pick you up", how does the consumer differentiate your company from theirs?

the key difference is that Enterprise picks you up and brings you to the rental station where you still have to go to the main process (paperwork, lines, upsells, ..). And you have to call in and coordinate your pickup. Kyte on the other side brings the car when requesting it in the app, so all of the above is eliminated and I'd say it's a lot simpler/more convenient.
I tried Kyte a few weeks ago when I needed a last minute rental for the day, and it was so easy and affordable! I liked that I was able to text directly with someone from Kyte to ask questions about insurance or change my pick-up location. Also - the car was super clean which was a nice change from the cars I used to get on Getaround!

I’m going to Florida for work next month and had to rent from Budget because it was the only option. I was so annoyed - I’m going to have to take a Lyft from the office to the rental place in the middle of the day and then have to wait until the next day to drop it back off and get a family member to pick me up. All of which is to say: this is stupid and I wish Kyte were in Florida already because I got used to some serious convenience.

Super interesting concept . But given that a person (I'm assuming) has to bring the car to you, how can your rates be similar or even cheaper than other rental cars?

great question. We take under-utilised inventory from traditional car rental companies in order to provide you with a car that is reliable but affordable at the same time 😃
