Hey everyone πŸ‘‹ I want to introduce you to my next little project today: πŸ§ͺ Ingredients It's a simple website scanner which can determine the technologies (or as I call it: "ingredients") behind a website. Just enter the URL you want to scan, and Ingredients will do the rest. You can also click on individual ingredients to learn more about them and how often they occur. If you want to add more ingredients, please contribute on GitHub! β†’ https://github.com/berrysauce/in...

Wow very interesting tool. I also like the logo and name - it's really cool :) Congratulations on todays launch :)

Weird, it's not working for me It says ! Please enter a URL - and I have
berrysauce
@darren_hendley Did you input a URL with http:// or https:// at the beginning? It only works with that prefix, since it’s a HTML URL input.
Michael Milstead
Very cool. Did you manually populate the /ingredients folder? Or did you have some automated way of getting the initial list?
berrysauce
@milst Yes, I manually populated it. Just the descriptions were AI generated, as I added them later on, and adding so many descriptions by hand is daunting.

Neat and cute. Supported.

This looks interesting.

This is really useful! Superclean and easy to use. Instant bookmark. The only thing you could improve is recognizing websites without the https reference! :)
berrysauce
@lucas_pilzen Awesome 🀩 Yeah that could be improved! I was using the HTML URL input so browsers would display to users that the URL they inputted was invalid, but it seems like some browsers don’t do that, so Iβ€˜ll get onto that! Edit: Done!

Looks pretty useful, I remember using something like that long time ago, but certainly that's something I might give a try to. Do you have any plans in launching it as a Chrome extension? That might be my by far most popular way of using it.
berrysauce
@soomie Great! I actually really wanted it to be a web-base tool as a lot of these website analyzers are indeed extensions, and if you're on a device that doesn't support them, you can analyze anything. But I'll definitely keep it in mind!
Vlad Zivkovic
Great idea, I will definitely use it in my research of competitors! Congratulations on your launch! πŸš€πŸš€πŸš€

This is awesome! Now developers can compare well-made sites/web apps to see what is performing best! Also, from a competitive standpoint, you can see your competition's tech stack and compare.
