Who had the biggest influence on your business?
I bet that the vast majority of the environment we operate in has a 9-to-5 job.
So getting into the position of an entrepreneur when you are in such a collective is not the easiest.
Because you definitely need some motivation, contacts, a mindset, certain skills and many other things.
Who (or what) do you think influenced your journey in business the most?
For me, it was a mix of these things:
Me and my inner experience of how I was afraid of the fact that in life I would do things that I absolutely did not enjoy.
A few inspiring people from the online space who were doing what I liked at the time (e.g. Zuzka Light, who had an online exercise program – at that time I wanted to do business in sports; or Libor Hoření – Czech entrepreneur and philanthropist... the fact that both come from a neighbourhood country gave me courage that even from a post-communist region a lot can be achieved)
One accelerator where I participated and received a grant.
Former boyfriends 😅 (some of them pushed me to not be afraid to do the things I want; and some let me know that my things are not that important so I decided to prove them wrong lol)

For me, definitely the people around me (@bengeekly) . And COVID played a big part too. It gave me the time to rethink what I actually wanted to do !!

@bengeekly @amraniyasser I have the same opinion on COVID. I have always been more inhouse rather than mingling with people outside and since I didn't have to commute to my university, I gained at least 4 hours to my day and I could spend it according to myself.

@busmark_w_nika What did you do with all that time? :D

@amraniyasser back then, I started building my own platform for workouts, raised some money in small accelerator, closed that idea and moved on with other activities :D
For me, it’s 100% the physical environment and the energy of the people around me.
Whenever I head back to my hometown and stay with my parents, my ambition just drops to zero🤨—I go into total power-saving mode, just wanting to sleep and daydream.
But the second I’m back in the city around ambitious peers and coworkers, a switch flips. I can barely relax, and I even catch myself debugging and improving my product in my dreams.
It made me realize that willpower is overrated; environment design is everything.
Does anyone else feel this massive split between hometown peace vs. city hustle? How do you keep the drive alive when you’re away from the hustle?

@summerxia The same! My family has never been business-oriented, and they tried to pull me away from having a sole proprietorship. I am so happy that I pursued my own journey :)

I would say people online, it's crazy what communities can bring us!
The majority of people that inspired me on building are online

@bengeekly The same for me – not many people in my environment were really business-oriented (I mean offline).
For me, it’s customer interviews. There’s something incredibly motivating about talking to someone who genuinely gets value from what you’ve built and seeing that “wow” moment when it clicks for them.

@dmitryoreshko What product are you discussing with them?
@busmark_w_nika I've been running many startups, my current venture is Synthers AI, scaling usability testing!
