How often should you post in the Product Hunt forums? [good nice to haves]
The answer depends on what you want to achieve.
If you want to stay top of mind for a constantly growing audience and increase visibility, post every day.
If you want to amplify your launch, focus on the period before, during, and after the launch.
Before the launch, I would start with enough time in advance, around one month before, and I would personally post approximately (at least) twice a week.
But I think that in general, if you want to be visible within the forums, twice a week is bearable.

The other side of the equation is whether your discussions are getting confirmed.
To make them as effective as possible and increase the chances of confirmation, place discussions in the right forums. (For example, a LinkedIn topic should go under a LinkedIn forum, a Vercel topic under a Vercel forum, etc.)
– If you are a new member, I would first support others, build some "reputacy", and verify a profile.
– Sometimes you can have good engagement even from the comments.
– If any of your discussions are trending, try to nurture it as much as possible with ongoing conversation.

I’d actually start with replies rather than posting. I’d spend at least 45–60 minutes a day engaging in relevant discussions, helping people, and building some reputation first. Then I’d add a few posts per week.
But the bigger opportunity for me is using the platform as an LLM visibility channel.
I’d consistently create useful discussions around the problems my product solves, the category, alternatives, comparisons, and specific use cases. With the goal of getting that content indexed and eventually increasing the chances of my product being mentioned or recommended by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, etc.
So I’d think about it less as “how often should I post?” and more as “how do I build enough relevant content and authority around my category?”

@byalexai I think you are very opinionated, and thanks to that, you were able to create a really good reputation even through comments. It is not an easy position because if the comment is not strong / hitting enough, it can be buried in the flood of other comments. So this comment game is very for high-pro players. @busmark_w_nika For me, posting and commenting is a way to collect different points of view that spark new ideas and help me see different subjects from new perspectives.
The PH community has become especially valuable to me because we're all sharing the same global context.
So I think as long as you have meaningful topics to discuss, it's always worth posting.

Three of mine got rejected before it clicked that it wasn't about effort. It was topic. Anything about my own product, or about squeezing more value from PH's own points system, got pulled every time. The ones that survived were about problems I hit building something, nothing to do with PH itself.
