How do you guys manage everything as a solo developer ?
by•
As a solo developer, every day feels like a race where you have to do everything yourself.
From designing and coding to marketing, creating content, talking to users, and everything in between.
Honestly, it can feel like too much for one person.
And the funny part is, I only really enjoy one thing: building the product. 😅
I enjoy designing the product and thinking through the user flow. But marketing and consistently creating content? That’s a completely different story.
I’m curious how other solo developers approach this. How do you divide your time between building and everything else without feeling overwhelmed?
I’d love to hear what’s actually worked for you.

I’ve found that trying to do everything every day makes me less productive. My approach is to give certain days a specific focus instead of constantly switching between tasks.

User conversations help me decide where my time should go. I’d rather spend an hour talking to a few real users than spend hours guessing what needs to be built next.
The marketing side can feel especially difficult when building is what you actually enjoy. I usually have to treat it as part of the product rather than something I’ll get around to later.
Same here. If I try to do product, content, users and marketing all in the same day, I just end up doing all of them badly. I usually pick one main thing for the day and keep the rest small
