Has vibe coding changed how you build?
by•
Before vibe coding I would spend a lot of time just getting started
Now I can test an idea build a small prototype and see if it actually works much faster
The biggest change for me is not writing less code
It’s being able to experiment with more ideas

I’ve also noticed that rough prototypes can answer question much earlier. Sometimes using something for five minutes tells me more than thinking about the idea for several days.
@juanruizpozuelo It also makes side project feel more realistic. There are ideas I would previously have dismissed because the initial development effort was too high for something I wasn’t sure about.
@juanruizpozuelo @christinagrimsley Yeah I agree the side project part is interesting too it shows how prototypes can make it easier to test ideas without overthinking them
@juanruizpozuelo Yeah exactly it makes it easier to turn those random ideas into something real instead of just leaving them as ideas
I wouldn’t say it has made me build less code either. In some cases I actually build more, but the difference is that I’m comfortable throwing away experiments that don’t work
@melissatrahan Exactly this is what I mean too the main benefit is being able to test ideas quickly without spending too much time building everything from scratch
