Ha ha it was only a matter of time we hacked this together in 2016
Huge!
This is a huge update! Great news as I sit here working on an insurance chatbot with Facebook Messenger.
just curious...do you think this will increase chatbot conversion rates? You should be able to create more customized CTA buttons.
we could already use FB messenger links to send people to the chatbot from our website (using any CTA that we liked). That process of sending people from your company site, off too Facebook, would however have a percentage that dropped off - so hopefully that drop off point disappears with this update.
They want businesses to sell & support through the platform. This is not just chat!
Meh. Yet another facebook shit.
FB might leverage their brand name, but Drift is (and will remain) #1
As a website browser, I would definitely think twice before chatting if I see the Messenger button. Sometimes, I dont want someone knowing everything about me. Sometimes!
Kinda a no-brainer, since this is a feature adopted years ago by WeChat. Facebook should never be allowed to buy WhatsApp and Instagram. The messaging and social network space need more competition
It'd be nice if the customers didn't need a FB account to reach out to you. Although I understand that Facebook is almost ubiquitous, the problem I forsee is a person wanting to reach me, and then deciding it's not worth doing the work of logging into FB to do it.

I dont trust Fb much of privacy case, so mostly wont use it or recommend it...

I am happy with my Drift

Pros:

You can connect to your customer directly through Fb

Cons:

Wonder Privacy of customer is on a big stake here , if the person is a shopping freak his inbox will be full of messages from Business Fb
