Launch #2 got 1 point. Here are the numbers I promised
A few weeks ago I posted here that my first launch, Meshio in March, finished with 0 points. I said I'd share this one's numbers after the 26th.
Codirity launched on Saturday. It wasn't featured, so it never made the homepage. It ended the day with 1 point, in 271st place. It got two comments and I wrote both of them. The product page has 2 followers.
So I went from 0 to 1. I'm not calling that progress.
Here's what I did this time. I posted five threads in this forum and three in the general ones, plus X, LinkedIn and an Ask HN, all in the month before launch.
Here's what I didn't do, and it's the thing I said mattered most: comment on other people's launches every day. I drafted comments most mornings and posted basically none. My activity feed shows it. Threads are easy because you write them alone. Comments mean showing up in someone else's room, and I kept skipping that.
My guess is the threads did nothing for distribution and the part I skipped was the actual work. I could be wrong about that.
If you launched with a small account and it went better than this, what did you do in the two weeks before? The daily stuff, not the launch-day stuff.
