How is your team organized for Human and Agent Collaboration?

by•

Hi everyone, Justin from BasicOps here.

Most teams I talk to work with AI agents the same way: write a prompt, wait for the answer, copy it into the project tool, then brief the agent all over again next time. The agent does good work, but someone on the team is doing the job of carrying context back and forth.

We think working with an agent should feel as familiar as working with any other team member. The agent is on the team, with a role everyone understands, joining the same threads and discussion, and remembering tasks vs projects and keeping it all together. It owns the work assigned to it, follows the conversation around that work and hands results back where the team can see them. People step in where judgment matters, approvals required, and nobody has to re-explain the project every morning.

That’s the idea behind BasicOps, the Workplace for Humans and Agents, which we’re launching here on Tuesday, Oct 13. The biggest change we’ve seen is in how the team organizes itself once people and agents work side by side, with clear roles and clear ownership.

I’d love to hear from anyone running agents today:

How much of your time with agents goes into prompting and copying results around?

Has anyone given an agent real ownership of a piece of work? How did that go? What would make it better?

If an agent joined your team tomorrow, what role would it take first? Would you give them ownership? Why or why not?

I’ll share what we hear on launch day. Thanks for any thoughts.

Justin
