Looks interesting. I'll definitely check it out.

@estebanrules Please do. And let us know what you think of it.

Great news! Although I'm not sure what changed since I registered on September, same features same price as FREE. Probably only a rebranding of that subscription tier?
Andy Didorosi
@lecitoyenmonde We soft-launched this back in September to see how it would shape up before sharing widely. It used to be called Free, but we feel that Personal fits better for its intended use.

Basecamp is powerful and easy to use. You could run an entire small company on this plan (internal use only). You'd only run into issues with space. Basecamp offers the best SAAS value: annual plan $999 including unlimited everything and 1 TB of storage.
Andy Didorosi
@alec_kinnear Glad to hear you're experienced with Basecamp! With our Business plan you can add Clients to projects and control what aspects they see. It's actually one of our most popular features. Just FYI. Thanks for the support.

I have been using Basecamp on and off on various projects over the years. My cofounder and I use other standard collaboration tools for other engagements (outside of our startup). I must say having Basecamp as a place to call home for our startup, where everything is encapsulated away from all the other tools out there, is simply a big part of its value. What else can I say, here's a simple feature that is worth gold: I setup an Automatic Checkin with Basecamp, and I called it the Daily Standup (coming from an agile development background). This features allows us to get a daily feel of how the rest of the team is progressing. Basecamp 3 (on which I believe Basecamp is based) is the result of over 10 years of iterations of Basecamp 1 and 2. As a Rails developer and a fan of Basecamp and many of the team's associated work philosophies, I can say, do your self a favour, simplify your work life and get your self an account ;)

@elbahnasy Thanks for the warm words!

I tried hard to pitch this beauty to my current employer but they were neck deep into Asana. So I might have to try my luck again in the future after they get tired of fighting Asana😬

@ananth_sounder We've found a lot of people are starting Personal accounts, sharing them with their teammates and seeing what gets used more.

After trying Personal, can you move everything over to business?
Andy Didorosi
@peter_colbert Absolutely. It's one click to upgrade.

Hey @andy_didorosi! Didn't this actually come out awhile ago? Just asking out of curiousity...I've actually been using itntonplan my wedding for the past couple months! haha. So nailed that one! Unrelated sidenote: loved the interview on rework, and gotta love Detroit!
Andy Didorosi
@petrev01 We launched this quietly back in September. You're in early! And thanks!

Still one of the most practical and no-frills collaboration tools of its niche. I love the fact that Basecamp is a great-grandpa who actually looks younger, fresher and stronger than all the other new kids around it..
Andy Didorosi
@lyondhur A great-grandpa that's really into P90X

@andy_didorosi great move! love the simplicity of basecamp, but since you guys are also targeting freelancers - wouldn't it be good to give them a limited version of 1) Company intranet + team collaboration 2) Project templates (for similar projects) or at least 3) Advanced client access (you control what they see) ?
Andy Didorosi
@jpmartin We can't give the farm away for free. If you're using those features you're probably ready for a Business plan.
Jose Paul Martin
@andy_didorosi like I said "limited" version :) - there's a difference b/w a 3 member team and a 50 member team paying $99 per month.

Very powerful. Very easy to use. Very affordable.
