Thanks for the interest, everyone! Let me know if you have any questions about the new release. @dshan: @dtome is right -- the app is a total rewrite (front-end, back-end, visuals), even though it appears as an update in the store.

@moskov Fantastic move doubling down on mobile. Congrats, the new app is beautiful!

@moskov Got the update. IT'S SO MUCH BETTER. :)

@moskov Nice work, Dustin. Massive improvement. It got me to pay a bit more attention to Asana and dig in, trying to figure out ways that we're not using it to the full advantage here at Circa. Delighted to find out how much priority headings have improved...likely a massive improvement for our team here. Bravo.

I f'ing love asana. So excited to see this - for so long their web product has been 10x better than the mobile version. Even after just playing with the mobile for a few minutes, it's already noticeably faster, and I love the nav bar at the bottom of the app. The only thing I miss is that the app no longer buzzes when you complete a task. It's one of those small things I liked about the initial app for whatever reason.

@jwmares That didn't quite make it into this release, but it's coming very soon.

Great update all around, love Asana. 1 thing I noticed was that on app's home page, sections in your workspace are displayed as tasks, when they should probably be ignored. Regardless, great update - when are we going to see offline? :)

Pretty sure the new app will be a fully new app. ? Edit: apparently not, nevermind! Pumped about this, as an avid user.

@dshan Yep - it's a brand new app! I've been beta testing it for a couple weeks and it is responsive, smooth and finally brings all the web features to mobile. Note from the asana blog: The app will be rolled out in the App Store throughout the day. If the new app is not available in the App Store, please check back later today; it takes time to update for all users.

@dtome the old version was barely usable...glad to see they upgraded it

FINALLY!

Congrats on the launch, @moskov. The promo video does a great job of describing a user narrative. From my understanding (and correct me if I'm wrong), Asana started off primarily as a project management for teams but I've met several people that use it just for themselves as a personal to-do list. Where are you focusing right now and how has that inspired/changed what you're doing on mobile?
Dustin Moskovitz
@rrhoover Asana's mission is about teams, but the product is certainly very useful as an individual as well. Many of our customers use it at work with their team and then also organize their personal life in a separate workspace. From there, it's easy to collaborate with someone (like an S.O. or roommate), but many choose not to. If *all* you want is a personal to-do list, I still think Asana is a very nice solution, but there are many great options out there. Arguably, our collaborative-focused design will be a detriment (e.g. a bunch of comment threads all over the UI that you'll never need). I expect that users discovering us through the app store will be more inclined to use Asana that way than users finding us on the web, but our focus as a product team will remain on teams. We think there is more of a need for a new solution there, and a bigger problem to be solved.

@moskov Beautifully done app... the only thing that I can't figure out for the life of me is how to delete a task - I can only complete them? You should have it like Mailbox where swipe to the left is complete and swipe to the right is delete... am I missing something?
Dustin Moskovitz
@rolandal coming soon :) we tried to get as much functionality as possible into the release, but needed to balance that with getting the product out the door
