If you’re a dev, you already know how tedious it can be to code UI, especially CSS.

Enter Kombai: A new AI model users can prompt with Figma design files to get React,HTML, CSS code in one click per component, backed by — as of yesterday — $4.5 million in seed funding from Stellaris Venture Partners and Foundation Capital.

Founded by former Mindtickle executives Dipanjan Dey and Abhijit Bhole in April last year, Kombai is the result of sixteen months of preparation and feedback from over 500 developers who accessed a private research preview.

Kombai's proprietary ensemble model can ‘see’ complex, real-world designs, interpret them the same way a human dev would, and then generate code that can be pasted directly into an IDE.

“In the public research preview phase, our goal is to learn about Kombai’s strengths and weaknesses as more and more developers try it out,” says Dey. “Our team will also be live on Product Hunt throughout the day to answer your questions and gather your input.”
