Build your brand before your product, or launch first and reveal yourself later?
... ways to build a brand audience before a product launch, specifically for a solo founder without time for community management or live chat engagement? Comment from Bruce Warren(@bruce_warren): This really comes to what you optimize for speed
vs
signal .Personal brand gives speed, product-first gives cleaner signal. Comment from James Swift(@splitpostio): I've done both across three apps. Built a faceless branded social presence on Instagram for two of them a meal planning app, hybrid training ... ... when it comes to a category with many competing solutions where trust is the conversion hurdle, a familiar founder face is definitely a positive for uptake. But like many here has commented, it comes with its upsides and

Is solving your "own problems" the best way to build a product?
... With my own experiences and challenges as an owner, and starting there first - building my product allowed for a deeper sense of user empathy. Which made areas like product, UX/UI, and GTM very natural to build for. On the
flipside
, observing others gave a separate lens that was not my own. That helped remove us from being to into our heads in the product/company and really listen to what the user has to say so we're building for them ... ... audience of one. How did the smartest person from your class/school end up? (Success/Fail stories)
... wanted to do these things. :) But cool he followed his dreams :) Comment from Ryan Valenzuela(@rvalenz): The top students from both high school and college ended up taking careers and going through the job ladder within companies. On the
flipside
, some unsuspecting/unconventional C avg or even dropouts ended up starting their own businesses and companies and are thriving. I guess it also depends on your philosophy on what success is - the dropouts are doing well entrepreneurially. The top students ... ... point. school rewards the followers while thinkers are menace to the society, that is why knowledge is dangerous for those who are in possession of power. They are scared of people making systems eventually making them as

✅ POLL: Do you buy the domain first or build the product first?
... available. Comment from Mike Andrew(@mikeandrew): Start with the end in mind - enjoy finding a domain first then use it to motivate your cool build Comment from Ren Wang(@rivertwilight): Domain first. - Great domain brings better impression: like detaildesign.com
vs
detail.design . I chose the detail.design for better impression. Will you love the product more if you see such a beautiful domain? - Great domain push you get work done: I spent $200 so I MUST continue to build this otherwise ... ... solid start to craft a PERFECT stuff.) Comment from Jamie(@codeandconsciousness): I buy the domain about half way thru the project, when I think it's viable and not at risk of being abandoned. Now there are plenty of
