... know, we just launched
Dirac
yesterday! This is one small step towards building a better email for all of us who are stuck being our own email assistants. The launch was incredibly fun for me as the Maker of

How does Dirac understand your Tone and apply it?
... know,
Dirac
is an email agent that hands you only decisions, not busywork. And one of the most important parts of that is "It can't be just AI SLOP" . The drafted replies, the compositions, need to sound exactly like you. And not just generally "you". Different situations, different people, different contexts. The tone you use for a "Hey bro can you fix this bug?" email from your developer would be completely different than how you would talk to Sarah ... ... about "booking a dentist appointment" or Mark about "are you interested in our product". So how does

Gmail and Superhuman are just a faster Horse Carriage
... lighter? But they were on the completely wrong thing. Henry Ford built a motorzed vehicle and took over everything. It wasn't just a faster transportation; it was a completely different parallel. We aim to recreate this difference with
Dirac
vs
. other Email Inboxes. Instead of making you, the founder, just a faster assistant for yourself.

What area would you NEVER trust to Ai, in your inbox?
... campaign and post on meta ads. You always want to be the one checking to make sure that there are no errors. Thanks for your POV :) Comment from Peter Shu(@peterz_shu): @alistair_james1 For me as well.
Dirac
's send button is manually pressed. Comment from Peter Shu(@peterz_shu): @ethan_marshall So, anything that other people can see? Comment from Peter Shu(@peterz_shu): @estreamedia Yeah that is another great point! You're onto something ... ... user___090202674ab6e030a7a9c52): @shawn_idrees I agree with the reversibility idea. AI feels much safer when it can help without making permanent decisions on my behalf. Comment from Peter Shu(@peterz_shu): @brielle_marie And that's the

What is your biggest barrier from switching to gmail alternatives?
... tool that they don't even trust fully. And where's the trust? If there's no a-ha moment, and the time-saving value takes time and stats-keeping to show, then nobody would last that long! At
Dirac
, we tried to tailor the core experience of opening inbox, drafting, and interacting with ai, as close as possible to your real routine - how you use gmail, how you use claude, etc... All in the hopes of not upsetting ... ... emotional cost of switching . Comment from Peter Shu(@peterz_shu): @sarveshsea I've been thinking about that. Thanks for telling me abt this! Do you think having a "Chrome extension" would be better for

Why are people still using Gmail despite better alternatives?
... still using Gmail? Is it because you're scared of the cost? Or not sure if ai can really save you time? Comment from Peter Shu(@peterz_shu): Let's do the maths - assuming 40-hour work weeks.
Dirac
cost: $20/month. There are 4 weeks in a month, which is 4 x 40 = 160hours of work per month. this number will be used later, remember it According to studies like https://www.readless.app/blog/av... , about a quarter of that time ... ... used directly in the email inbox. 160 / 4 = 40. That is ~40 hours per month in Email!! Now, assuming

Has anyone ever used Gmail/Outlook alternatives before? What do you think about it?
... Yahoo (if it counts even). But has any one of us tried it before? Why/Why not? Comment from Michael Pehl(@michaelpehl): Using Thunderbird for years, also Roundcube. Running my own email servers. Comment from Sarvesh Chidambaram(@sarveshsea): I try
alternatives
, then Gmail drags me back with muscle memory. The switching cost is weirdly emotional for something this boring. Comment from Peter Shu(@peterz_shu): @michaelpehl damn!! You re really taking control of this into your own hands! I respect ... ... that Comment from Peter Shu(@peterz_shu): @scarlett_massey Good method which maximizes discovery and minimizes cost for you. so does that mean the ones that are non plug-in, you don t use? Also.
