Did OpenAI just acqui-hire Cline?
... looks like OpenAI may have acqui-hired the @
Cline
team. It's not currently clear what that means for the future of the AI coding agent as a project, as their team members are now on the @Codex by OpenAI team. Any open-source

Coding with an AI IDE (visual) vs AI CLI (Terminal), what's better?
... product teams that focus on the agent loop, tool calling, management of context and subagents can move faster and I think that's why Claude Code and Amp have the edge right now with Gemini-CLI also catching up.
VS
Code forks start with a huge surface area that comes with all kinds of scope creep challenges. This helped Cursor et al to get started and onboard users fast because the user experience is largely backwards compatibility. It meets people ... ... deeper tinkering more inviting even for non-devs. Comment from Gabe Perez(@gabe): @steveb ooo, this is a good place to start. Some fun ones are Sentry and Linear ... ... this bug or go build this feature Comment from Dave Hussey(@grindflow_ux): @gabe @leandro_sardi I find @

Open Source: MCP Atlassian Server – Connect AI with Jira & Confluence 🤖✨
... switching-opening tabs, hunting for info, filling forms it really broke my flow. To fix this, I built MCP Atlassian Server (by phuc-nt) . It s an open-source Model Context Protocol server that lets AI assistants (like
Cline
) talk directly to Jira & Confluence. Now you can: Now you can: Query Jira deeply: search issues by JQL, browse boards, backlogs, sprints, epics, and roadmaps Manage Jira issues end-to-end: create, update, assign, transition statuses, and log work ... ... view spaces, pages, attachments, and version history Author Confluence pages: create or edit content, add inline comments, and embed media Speak in any natural language Stay in chat-no more tab switching. The project is pending review on the
