AgentDock 1.4: works without cmux, costs at API prices, an MCP server, 7 more agents

AgentDock 1.4 is out. The short version: it now works on a Mac without cmux, tells you what your agents’ tokens would cost at API prices, lets you leave a message for a busy agent, answers questions from other agents over MCP, and reads seven more agents.

Works without cmux

  • If you run Claude Code or Codex in any terminal, or in the Claude or Codex app, AgentDock now shows them on a Mac that doesn’t have cmux. Before, the strip and the menu showed only the cmux error. cmux is optional.

Costs at API prices

  • The hover card, the Tokens widget and Activity show “≈ $12.40 at API prices” beside the tokens, per day, for the week and per model, from a built-in price table for Anthropic, OpenAI and Google models. A model with no price counts as unpriced tokens, never a guess. On a subscription it’s a comparison, not your bill.

When it’s done (⇧↩)

  • In the router (⌥⌥), ⇧↩ holds a message for a busy agent and types it the moment the agent finishes; ↩ still sends now. Queued messages show on the hover card and can be removed.

Search in History

  • / or ⌘F filters your agents’ finished turns by every word you type: title, words, folder, repository, branch, agent, model.

An MCP server

  • Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI can ask AgentDock which agents are running, what each one is editing, their recent turns, and send a message to one or start one, through a socket on your Mac. Nothing leaves it. Turn it on per agent in Settings › Agents.

Seven more agents, in preview

  • Qwen Code, Factory Droid, Hermes Agent, Pi and Goose, read from their own session files and stores (status, History and Tokens; Droid keeps only totals, so no tokens yet), and Cline and Roo Code from their VS Code tasks (History and Tokens). Hermes and Cline are checked against real stores; the others are written from their code and documentation until checked live. That’s 14 agents in preview now, next to Claude Code, Codex and Grok:

Homebrew

  • brew install --cask tvidenov/tap/agentdock

Everything still runs on your Mac, with no account. $19 once, with a 7-day free trial; the dots and the hover card stay free after the trial.
