Which newsletter service do you use? (The best UX/UI + monetisation aspects)

When I started my newsletter 2 years ago, I used Mailchimp I was familiar with it from previous projects because it offered fairly extensive analytics and testing. The problem was that the articles weren t public. Mailchimp is more suitable for business newsletters like sales offers, etc.

Monetization:

When I wanted to take the next step and monetise, I looked into Beehiiv. At that time, however, I wasn t in the mood to pay the costs without yet earning any revenue in my opinion, Beehiiv has the best monetisation model (subscriptions, ad revenue sharing, sponsorships, etc.). Considering costs...

Substack vs. Beehiiv and why?
Which platform for "open" newsletter curation do you use? Which platform would you defend? Name its pros, you maybe convince people to make a switch.

Which platform(s) do you primarily use to share updates, announcements, and news?

Where do you regularly post product updates, company news, announcements, etc. Or do you typically publish those through your blog or website or even chat like Slack? I'm using a mix of a few and am curious which one will be the most active. What has your experience been like? Which platforms have you tried/want to try?

Scaling beyond newsletters
IMO it's abnormally difficult to take email beyond newsletters to drip campaign or intelligent segmenting. The tools out there seem to require a lot more knowhow than I'd expect compared to design tools and creating smart websites. It's a steep learning curve and therefore resource intensive to either learn it myself or hire people who know what they're doing. Am I alone here? What's the simplest tool out there for getting from newsletter to intelligent customer journeys using email? Is there one?

How does one publish newsletter which is also available on the website?
Hello everyone! I am trying to wrap my head around this. I follow James Clear's newsletter: https://jamesclear.com/3-2-1 . It comes to my email, but it is also hosted on his website. I am trying to figure out what tools or what ways could one actually do this. Could you please help me with some leads? Thank you so much!

How do you approach email marketing when you want to sell products?

According to Neil Patel's data about influencer marketing, newsletter/email is the most effective channel when it comes to ROI (attached infographics; source)

But not so many influencers own newsletters; in most cases, only social media channels.

Which are some of the best places to promote your saas/product/newsletter? (Help me improve my list)
Currently, I promote my newsletter (curatedforfounders.com) in these communities where I have seen conversions: - Twitter (#buildinpublic hashtag seems helpful) - Product Hunt - Beehiiv community (for newsletter) - My existing email list (on mailer lite) - Indiehackers (got very less traction in my experience) I know there are so many communities /platforms, but most are dead or have a very low active user base. Do you know of any other community that founders can use to share their work / promote their products and get new prospects?

I’m Janel, I created Newsletter Operating System, AMA 🔥
I'm a maker, marketer, writer and community builder, and a huge fan of the creator economy. I'm obsessed with newsletters and am addicted to creating new things & optimizing operational workflows using no-code tools. I started writing a newsletter, BrainPint last year and tumbled into a newsletter rabbit hole, which led me to create Newsletter Operating System, an all-in-one resource for newsletter writers built on Notion. It has helped more than 1,100 newsletter writers start, grow, organize and earn from their newsletters. I pivoted from corporate life to tech and am currently the Program Manager at On Deck s No-Code Fellowship. I m surrounded by amazing builders who play positive-sum games and am so thankful for that! I love to learn, curate, write and build things, in addition to social dancing, travel (hopefully I can get back to that!), and trivia. I'll be here on 5th August at 9AM PST / 6PM CET to answer any questions about newsletters, Notion, no-code, info products, building in public, curation, the creator economy and even how to break into tech! Basically, ask me anything. Drop your questions below

Substack or Beehiiv?

I have both @Substack and @beehiiv newsletters. Both have pros and cons. But honestly, I don't know what one to commit to. Substack only makes money when I make money but is feature lite. Beehiiv is kind expensive for me (5,000+ subs) and feels like it could even be feature obtuse. Do I need all those features? Do i need any of them? I end up flip flopping every year. So it leads me to this question.

Do you use Substack or Beehiiv? And why?

How do you grow your newsletter? 👀
Hey Product Hunters! Recently I launched a newsletter with weekly marketing case studies from profitable Solopreneurs (https://makerbox.ck.page/marketi...). Last week, I tried content repurposing and got around 50 new subscribers: autoplug on Twitter next issue teaser on Twitter repurposing content on Product Hunt discussions repurposing content on Indie Hackers To be honest, kinda dissatisfied with the growth. I thought I could grow at least +100 So, how do you promote your newsletter?

What's your favorite no code tool for creating websites?
With so many builders out there, which do you think does it best? I've been using webflow for the past week or so for my newsletter blog and it's been an awesome experience.

any tips on growing a newsletter?
currently building a daily newsletter aimed towards people who scroll on social media every morning. instead of waking up to chaotic feeds, how much nicer would it be to learn something cool in <5 minutes before you fully wake up and get out of bed? (quotidianlearning.substack.com) idk if my newsletter has a large audience and if it does, what's the best way to expand my reach?

How do you build a following for a newly launched newsletter?
I recently launched a newsletter called The Ideas Digest here on Product Hunt and I am using Substack. Unlike others, I do not have any preexisting mailing list to import, I am starting from scratch. Furthermore, I am known in open source circles and front-end development, but not so much in the niche I've targeted with my newsletter. I submitted my newsletter to PH and received a couple of upvotes, as well as a couple of signups. However, I feel as though I could be doing more. Do I just need to give it time and let people naturally find my newsletter or are there ways I can grow my subscriber base without becoming disenfranchised and giving up? I don't want to be "that person" who continually spams their newsletter on sites like Hacker News. Maybe I need to start buying ads, or is that silly for such a young newsletter? The newsletter itself centres around a relevant topic to many who frequent this site, it's about ideas, discussing trends, identifying opportunities and does research into various topics for the reader. I want to give people the tools to discover new opportunities and maybe start something of their own. Just because I can't launch doesn't mean someone else can't.

Advice in launching a newsletter and twitter presence
Hey guys, I am quite new to the whole hacking products together thing, and have recently learnt how to build landing pages. I have heard that twitter is a commonplace for tech personas and was wondering if anyone has any experience in how to build a personal brand on twitter. Could anyone direct me to good highly engaged twitter accounts as an example that I can learn from. Additionally I want to start a newsletter regarding my learning in life as a budding maker, data scientist, and former wall street trader. My intention is to create a feedback loop where my job is to learn what I need to do learn, while trying to explain it in a simplistic manner plus shed some light into these quite opaque industries. Has anyone had any experience building a newsletter and what are the important steps I should be aware of? Thank you!
