Quick confession I opened my browser today and counted
14 tabs. 9 of them were "utility" sites:
- 2 different JSON formatters (one for big files, one prettier)
- A JWT decoder
- A base64 encoder
- A regex tester
- A UUID generator
- A cron expression parser
- Two SQL formatters (because one doesn't do BigQuery)
Every single one has ads. Half of them upload my data to
"the cloud" for a task that's literally 3 lines of JavaScript.
Here's what's wild I've been doing this for 8+ years.
Every dev I know does this. We just accept it.
So I wanted to ask the PH community:
1. What's the ONE utility tool tab you can never close?
2. Have you ever pasted something sensitive (JWT, API
response, DB dump) into a random online tool and later
thought "wait... where did that data just go?"
3. If you could merge 5 of these tools into one keyboard
shortcut ( K style), which 5 would they be?
Genuinely curious what your daily "utility stack" looks
like I've been building something in this space and
the patterns I'm seeing are wild.
(No link drop this is a real question. Happy to share
what I'm working on in the comments if anyone's curious.)

So here's what happened. We were running campaigns, watching our click metrics climb, feeling pretty good about performance. Then we started digging into where those clicks actually came from.

Half of them were bots.

Not simple ones either. Headless browsers mimicking human behavior perfectly. Selenium scripts automating clicks at scale. Click farms using mobile devices. Advanced stuff rotating IPs, spoofing geolocation, faking mouse movements, generating realistic referrer patterns. Fingerprinting evasion. Timing tricks. Some were so good they looked completely human.

We realized most link tools just count clicks. They don't ask if those clicks are real.

I've been using @Google Chrome for years and honestly never thought much about changing. It just always seemed like the best and easiest option. Lately though, I've been feeling like maybe I'm missing out. Chrome doesn't feel like the no-brainer pick anymore, and I'm seeing more and more interesting browsers out there.

Currently, @Horse is my top pick. This is the one I'm most interested in trying out, but it also seems like a pretty different approach. I don't necessarily want my productivity to dip, but that may just be inevitable whenever switching.

I ve been on this platform for almost three years without interruption, reviewing dozens of products every day. I try many of them, but only a few have become part of my daily routine, ones I can t imagine living without.

@TabMagic - Bookmark & Tab Manager I no longer need 500 tabs open; I can save them to my dashboard and close my entire browser.

I am trying to gather tools directly developed for the Product Hunt platform that could possibly help you with the launch.
