For which operating system is it better to build the mobile app first? (And why?)

I'm doing research on which OS is worth making an educational app for, and jotted down some pros/cons for both iOS and Android.

Android:

It is known that there are more Android users, so you can potentially have a larger testing/user base.

πŸ“± Mobile Development - Then vs Now

When Android & iOS arrived in 2007 08, it kicked off a golden era for indie developers. From simple utilities to quirky experimental apps, anything could thrive, even without high-end graphics or complex systems.

That window kept expanding till ~2017.

But post-2021, everything changed.

Post-launch: When you’re not in the top 10 but didn’t do that bad either

Yesterday, we launched NiceJourney and ended up at #23!

Not bad, not great, just somewhere in that weird middle zone.

And honestly, today we re not sure how to feel about it.

What's the most users you got on a vibecoded project? We got 23 in the first day!

@jim_hartung and I built this ultralight task manager for Chrome (also works well on Comet) in the form of a Chrome extension and within the first day or so, without any marketing at all got 20+ users!

So what is it? It's called "Easy Tasks" and it literally has all the important stuff you need from a basic task management:

  • Organize your tasks in task lists

  • Search and sorting

  • Assign due date and priority to the tasks

  • Have a simple "Today" list on top of everything else

  • See tasks left behind

  • Quick capture, as simple as highlighting some text anywhere online, hit a shortcut, and create a task

Do you trust AI-generated code to be secure enough for production?

AI coding tools are great at writing code fast, but not so great at keeping it secure.

Most developers spend nights fixing bugs, chasing down vulnerabilities and doing manual reviews just to make sure nothing risky slips into production.

So I started asking myself, what if AI could actually help you ship safer code, not just more of it?

That s why I built Gammacode. It s an AI code intelligence platform that generates, scans your repos for vulnerabilities, bugs and tech debt, then automatically fixes them in secure sandboxes or through GitHub actions.

I want to create software that can change the world.

Friend,I've recently had an idea to create something that could change the world, making it a better and more developed place. However,it's still just a thought;I'm still figuring out the next step. Do you have any ideas?Friends,do you have any world-changing ideas?Even just a request of yours, please share.

Well Intelligence is live on Product Hunt 😻

The founder tax nobody talks about
You started a business to build something amazing. Instead, you're spending entire Sundays chasing invoices, copying numbers between platforms, and trying to figure out if that Stripe payment actually matches your accounting software.

One full day every month. Gone. Just like that.

What Well Intelligence actually does:

  • Auto-connects everything - Gmail, WhatsApp, any billing portal flows directly to your accountant or GDrive

  • AI answers your money questions - "How much runway do I have?" gets answered in seconds, not spreadsheet hours

  • Think ChatGPT for your finances - but it actually knows your numbers and builds charts on the fly

Is it still worth building an invoice generator when there are already so many in the SaaS market?

Hi

I m a solo dev and I ve already built about 75% of an invoice generator SaaS for freelancers and small business owners.

But lately, I ve been questioning is it still worth finishing and launching it? There are already tons of invoice tools out there.

My version focuses on:

Would you pay more for a product with great support?

Most people think users choose products based on features or price. In reality, support decides who stays.

A cheaper tool becomes expensive fast when every issue turns into a ticket nightmare. Meanwhile, teams keep paying more for products that solve problems and support them when it matters.

Support is not a cost. It is part of the product experience. Fast replies build trust. Clear answers reduce churn. Companies that treat support as a growth lever win.

I really wonder these questions

Founders: what is your favourite channel for growing your audience?

I m pretty sure most founders grow mainly on Twitter. Or LinkedIn.

But I ve realised it really depends on what kind of product you ve built.

If you re a fashion-focused founder, you probably grew up on Instagram or Pinterest.

I built a context-aware moderation rules engine β€” feedback on rule design?

I ve been exploring a rules + LLM approach where you write plain-text rules (any language) and the system makes approve/flag/reject decisions in under ~500ms, with priority to resolve conflicts.

What I d love feedback on:

Is priority the right way to resolve rule clashes (e.g., Personal Attack 0.9 > Verified 1.0 auto-approve)?

How do you really get honest customer feedback in 2025?

I ve been obsessed with this question lately.

Most survey tools give you answers, but not insights. People rush through, skip questions, or just give generic responses.

Why I built GoPilot β€” planning your day in two dimensions: time & place

After trying almost every calendar and trip planner out there, I realized they all miss something obvious.

Most tools help you plan by time ( You re free at 2pm ) or by location ( You ll be in New York ).

But real life happens in both.

Would you pay for a product you could easily rebuild yourself?

As developers, it s easy to fall into the I could just code this in a weekend mindset.

But I ve realized time, maintenance, and support often cost way more than the price of the tool.

Still, sometimes I just can t justify paying for something I know I could make.
