I'm Alen, founder of Zendt, launching tomorrow on PH.
Quick context on why this product exists: I spent 5 years freelancing for GCC clients while in school in Qatar, then college in Kerala. Every international payment I received between 15 and 20 lost 8 10% to PayPal, Wise, and remittance fees. Every March I scrambled for FIRAs my bank wouldn't issue cleanly. Every freelancer I knew was doing the same dance.
Zendt is the product I tried to find for 5 years and couldn't.
Three things I'm curious to hear from this community before tomorrow:
For 5 years I watched PayPal and Wise eat 8ā10% of every freelance paycheck from my GCC clients. Today I'm launching the fix.
Hey PH š I'm Alen, building Zendt from Kochi.
India has ~15M freelancers earning internationally. The tooling built for them is broken in a specific way, enterprise products dressed up for individuals, priced like you have a CFO and a CA on speed dial.
Zendt is the inverse. Mobile-first. Send an invoice, get paid in 150+ currencies, settle to your INR account, FIRA auto-generated per transaction. Flat 4% with live FX, no hidden markup. Domestic UPI at 0.6%.
Live on iOS and Android. Onboarding our first users this week.
Two things I'd love from this community:
ā If you've freelanced or run an agency receiving international payments, what was the worst part for you? Helps me prioritize what we fix next.
ā If you know an Indian freelancer getting wrecked on fees, send them our way. That's literally why we exist.
Happy to go deep on anything: pricing, infra choices, the regulatory rabbit hole (PA-CB, FEMA, FIRA generation), why Kochi over Bangalore, what raising as a 20-year-old looks like. Ask me anything.
