Building the freelancer's payments app

About

Founder & CEO at Zendt, building the payments app I wish I had during 6 years of freelancing for GCC clients. I started freelancing at 15 while in school in Qatar, then carried it through college in Kerala. Watched dozens of international payments lose 8–10% to PayPal, Wise, and remittance fees. Scrambled for FIRAs every March. Wrote off the losses as the cost of working internationally. until I didn't. Zendt is a cross-border payment platform for Indian freelancers. 4% flat with live FX, 150+ currencies in, INR out, FIRA per transaction. Live on iOS and Android. Always up for chats on fintech, cross-border payments, the India–GCC corridor, or what it looks like building a regulated product as a 20-year-old.

Why I'm building a payments app for Indian freelancers (and what I learned the hard way)

I'm Alen, founder of Zendt, launching tomorrow on PH.

Quick context on why this product exists: I spent 5 years freelancing for GCC clients while in school in Qatar, then college in Kerala. Every international payment I received between 15 and 20 lost 8 10% to PayPal, Wise, and remittance fees. Every March I scrambled for FIRAs my bank wouldn't issue cleanly. Every freelancer I knew was doing the same dance.

Zendt is the product I tried to find for 5 years and couldn't.

Three things I'm curious to hear from this community before tomorrow:

Zendt - The payments app for Indian freelancers

India's 15M freelancers lose 8–10% on every international payment to PayPal and Wise. Zendt fixes that, 150+ currencies in, INR out, flat 4% fee at live FX rates, FIRA auto-generated per transaction, settlements through licensed banking partners. Built-in invoicing, payment links, and domestic UPI at 0.6%. Built for individual freelancers. Not agencies. Not companies. Just you.
