Why I'm building a payments app for Indian freelancers (and what I learned the hard way)

by

I'm Alen, founder of Zendt, launching tomorrow on PH.

Quick context on why this product exists: I spent 5 years freelancing for GCC clients while in school in Qatar, then college in Kerala. Every international payment I received between 15 and 20 lost 8–10% to PayPal, Wise, and remittance fees. Every March I scrambled for FIRAs my bank wouldn't issue cleanly. Every freelancer I knew was doing the same dance.

Zendt is the product I tried to find for 5 years and couldn't.

Three things I'm curious to hear from this community before tomorrow:

  1. If you're a freelancer (Indian or otherwise) - what's the single most painful part of getting paid internationally?

  2. If you've used Wise, PayPal, or Payoneer - what made you stay, or made you leave?

  3. If you're building or working in fintech - what's the one feature you wish existed in cross-border payments?

First 25 thoughtful commenters get early access to international payments on Zendt, fast-tracked KYC and onboarding so you can start receiving global client payments before we open the gates to the public waitlist.

I'll be in this thread tonight and through launch day tomorrow.
