VocaScript transcribes hours-long recordings without requiring you to split them. You get timestamped, speaker-labeled text in 100+ languages, even when speakers switch languages. Each transcript is checked against the audio to auto-fix any issues it can, and a quality report walks you through the rest. Need a passage redone? Retranscribe it surgically. Upload, paste a link, or transcribe as you browse with the extension and read along with captions on the page. No signup needed to try it.

umamiA self-hosted alternative to Google Analytics
5.0 (13 reviews)
Also considered:
Google Analytics was way more than I needed and it means an annoying cookie banner. Umami I can host myself, it doesn't use cookies, and it shows me where visitors come from and what pages they land on, which is really all I look at.

Claude CodeAnthropic’s deep-context AI coder
5.0 (767 reviews)
Also considered:
I use a few of these side by side on VocaScript, and they all have a shared configuration for rules, MCPS, skills, Hooks etc. This way I can test them against each other at any point and see how they do. Overall Claude Code has just been the better value for the usage and the sort of tasks I need my AI agents to do.

PolarOpen source monetization platform for developers
5.0 (53 reviews)
I needed a merchant of record because I run VocaScript alone and didn't want to handle sales tax in every country myself, which ruled out plain Stripe. Then I compared the rest on fees and on how easy they'd be to build on. FastSpring and Lemon Squeezy came out expensive for a $10 plan, Creem had the lowest fee per sale and Dodo was still pretty new at the time. I went with Polar because the API is clean, it's open source, which I like for something my whole billing depends on, and I can take payouts when I want, which at the time and at my size made it the cheapest overall.

RemotionCreate videos programmatically
5.0 (62 reviews)
Also considered:
I knew I'd be changing headlines and screenshots a lot before launch, and with a normal video editor that means redoing things by hand every time. With Remotion it's all code, so I edit one line and render again, and the film, the gallery pictures and the thumbnail all stay consistent.

F5BotGet emailed when your brand is mentioned on Reddit or HN
5.0 (3 reviews)
Also considered:
I just started using this a few days ago. GummySearch was what most people recommended, but it shut down, and Syften is paid. I only needed to know when VocaScript gets mentioned on Reddit or Hacker News, and F5Bot does that for free by email. It's been reliable for the few days I've had it running. The limits are a bit of a pain, though, so I might build my own solution. We'll see.
