Founded in 2013 as a tiny side project, Product Hunt has become the place for makers and companies to launch their latest app, gadget, or physical products to the world. It's a global community of friendly folks sharing and discussing the latest in tech.
We teamed up with Vercel and we want you shipping this Friday. May 15 is Vercel Day. Launch your product on Product Hunt that day with the Vercel Day tag and you're on the official Vercel Day leaderboard alongside every other builder going live that day. Top launches win prizes and get serious visibility from a crowd that's already paying attention. This is the move if you've been waiting for a reason to launch. You've got four days. What are you building? Drop it below
A few of us at Product Hunt are putting on our most brutally honest (but helpful!) hats and roasting landing pages for the next two days. Want in? Drop your link below, and we ll give you real, no-BS feedback on:
Clarity Does your message make sense or sound like corporate soup? Calls to Action Do we feel compelled to click, or just leave? Design & UX Smooth experience or rage quit territory? Anything else Tell us what you want feedback on.
We re trying something new on Thursday: Alpha Day.
The idea is simple. If this is the first time you re launching your product anywhere, you can tag it alpha and get a boost to your points (and land on a special leaderboard).
Reviewers mostly see Product Hunt as a strong place to discover new tools, follow tech trends, and get fast feedback from an active community. Users repeatedly praise the discussions, reviews, and launch-day visibility, while some say it works better for early awareness than long-term lead generation. Makers of ZapDigits also report a good developer experience, and founders behind git-lrc say it helps them share their work widely. Still, several reviews point to weak support, confusing UX, bugs, and concerns about opaque vote and comment weighting.
The site is pretty good. Launching a product is smooth. But there are so many issues with the UI of the site:
* The Launch tips popup is too high to fit the laptop screen
* The page is too wide on the large monitor and gets a horizontal scroll bar
* The mobile version shows data about the products not visible on desktop (like "product platform")
* In the mobile version there is no way of reaching a product discussion, even as an admin of the product (!)
* etc, etc.
Being a page of this size, having a UX this weak is not great. With so many UX/UI people in the community it should have been easy to test and fix things like this.
Product Hunt gives you a strong day-one spike and fast feedback. It’s weaker for APAC/B2B discovery and still ranks mostly on upvotes vs intent. Compared to others: Peerlist is smaller but warmer for B2B, Hacker News is spiky yet deep, LinkedIn yields the most qualified leads. Bottom line: great spark—not your pipeline.
