We recently realized we were falling into a classic vanity metric trap. We were getting thousands of visitors hitting our site, the analytics looked amazing, but our calendar was completely empty. Almost no one was actually booking a demo.
It s incredibly frustrating to see all that traffic bounce without taking the next step. I'm wondering who else here has faced this exact same issue?
It feels like there's a massive disconnect between optimizing for eyeballs and actually capturing intent. If you've been in this boat, how did you figure out where the drop-off was happening? Was it a messaging problem, a friction-heavy CTA, or were you just attracting the wrong kind of traffic altogether?
Would love to hear your experiences and how some of you managed to fix the leaks in your funnel.
Cluing
@ralic Thanks Ivan, that means a lot coming from you 🙏
Page rules are not in the dashboard yet, but we're on it. It'll be in the next update, allow list and block list with wildcards, exactly as you wrote it.
How was the onboarding for you, smooth all the way through?
@ralic Dogan here, the other half of Widgo. Adding to Adam: your example went into the backlog exactly as you wrote it. Until it ships, a GTM trigger on page path gets you most of the way with no code. Glad the scan part landed, that one took us the longest to get right. :)
Faced same issue on my site. User read the whole page and then just leave. Hardly anyone touches and chat widget, I think users assume it is a contact form with extra steps.
Curious what it does when a user clearly isn't fit. Does is back off or going for the meeting?
@mayursojitra That "contact form in disguise" read is the real problem, Mayur. If the widget's opener is "how can I help you?", everyone knows it's a lead trap and scrolls past.
On disqualifying: it backs off. Wrong size, wrong region, student, competitor, it answers the question properly and stops there instead of angling for a meeting. Pushing a demo on a bad fit just burns the conversation and clogs the calendar.
What's the most common non-fit visitor on your site?
@mayursojitra What fixed it on our own site was the opener. When the first message references the page someone is actually reading, it stops looking like a form. Generic "how can I help you" is what trained everyone to ignore widgets in the first place.
minimalist phone: reduce your screentime
In case the tool doesn't have the answer, is the visitor redirected to a person?
@busmark_w_nika Hi Nika,
Exactly, AI already builds strong knowledge about your company but if it doesn't know; always passes to humans. How many visitor do you have a month on your site?
minimalist phone: reduce your screentime
@adamkamaneh If you mean the site for my upcoming product SafeLimit – it is not ready yet :) so no stats for now :)
@busmark_w_nika The handoff carries the whole conversation with it, so your human picks up with full context instead of making the visitor repeat themselves. That was the piece we cared most about back when this was just an internal tool.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
Adam here, co-founder of Widgo.
Widgo started as a small internal feature we built for ourselves.
We were tired of watching people visit our website, read about our product, and leave without ever talking to us. So we built an AI sales rep that could actually have the conversation for us.
Then we showed it to a few people.
The reaction was crazy.
People immediately started asking, “Can we use this too?”
That’s when we made one of the biggest decisions we’ve ever made: we took this internal feature and turned it into a company.
We pivoted from Paillor to Widgo and went all in.
And honestly, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Widgo works with one line of code. It scans your website and docs, learns your product, talks to visitors, figures out which company they’re from, qualifies them with a 0–100 score, and books meetings directly inside the conversation.
We tried to find something that did all of this before building it. The tools we found started around $88,000/year, and some even required Salesforce.
We wanted something simple enough for a small team.
So we built it.
Today, 200+ teams have Widgo live, and last month it handled 12,400 conversations and booked 700 meetings.
And we’re keeping it free forever with no credit card required, so anyone can try it.
We’re incredibly excited to finally share Widgo with Product Hunt. 🚀
Go talk to it, try to break it, and tell us where it gets things wrong. ❤️
@adamkamaneh you mentioned it identifies the company behind anonymous sessions does it use a reverse IP lookup for that? well nice launch
@priya_kushwaha1
Thanks Priya 🙌
Yes, reverse IP lookup is the first layer, then we enrich it so you get real firmographics, not just a company name. It won't resolve every session (residential IPs, VPNs), and we leave those anonymous rather than guess.
Are you looking at this for your own site's traffic?
@adamkamaneh not for my own site right now.. I help coordinate campaigns and support software launches so I'm always keeping an eye on cool new tools like this.
@priya_kushwaha1 Lovely, when ever you are ready just ping me I will personally help you to onboard. :)
@adamkamaneh The calendar booking part sounds interesting- how well does it qualify before booking ?
@dipanshu_kushwaha5 Based on your knowledge base, Widgo automatically sets criteria to score visitors from 0 to 100 based on fit and intent. But you can customize it anytime.
@adamkamaneh @dipanshu_kushwaha5 The score is not a black box. You can see why a visitor scored what they scored and change the criteria yourself. Nothing books a meeting silently, you set the threshold.
Bluerails Discovery
Good luck, @doganakbulut!
@doganakbulut @j_mannanal Thank you Jens 🙏 Been a long week getting here.
How did Bluerails Discovery's launch day go for you?
@j_mannanal Thank you Jens 🙏 Appreciate you showing up for this one.
RunEvr
Congrats on the launch! Really interesting to explore. It seems like a great tool for onboarding and engaging website visitors.
@adana Thank you so much Adana for your kind words. Just wondered what is the amount of web traffic you are having monthly?
@adana Thanks Adana 🙏 Onboarding is where we see it used most, people ask the widget things they would never put in a form. Congrats on RunEvr as well.
The SDR Agent is quite impressive.
@5atyam_5rivastava
Appreciate that Satyam 🙏
It took a while to get the qualifying part right. Answering questions is easy, knowing when to stop selling and just book the meeting is the hard bit.
Curious, what's the first thing you'd want it to do on your site?
@5atyam_5rivastava Thanks Satyam. The part I'm most proud of is that it says "I don't know" instead of inventing an answer. Sounds small, but it's the reason visitors keep talking to it.
