Hi Product Hunt, Jen & Sarah here. We are the founders of Marigold. We first met while working at MTV years ago, and built Marigold to be the go-to place for women to get a boost of confidence in any part of their lives. We've teamed up with 35+ amazing confidence coaches who deliver bite-sized audio sessions on topics relating to career, relationships, personal growth, motherhood, body image, finances, health & wellness and more. There have been quite a few mental wellness apps coming out in the past few years and I'm not really a fan of any, but I can see how some people could find them helpful. That is not the case with this app though. Really don't like how it's marketed as an app for women. Don't get me wrong, the content might be amazing and gender neutral—who knows?—but just by marketing this to women exclusively, furthers the notion that women need things that are specially made for women, and can't possibly use those made for men (women's shampoo, women's shoes, women's bags etc, as if there is any difference). Would like to hear your views on that.

Thanks so much for your feedback, @anna_0x, and for taking the time to share it with us. When we first came up with the concept, we found ourselves in some situations where we lacked confidence, and in turn, we looked to other women close to us for guidance. We found a sense of community with the women in our lives and know that it is not always as accessible for others. We hear what you are saying. That said, in our research we found that building this specifically for women was empowering to both coaches and those who tested the app. The app is by no means meant to say that women and men can't work together or use the same products or solutions. It's more about building a strong community and helping women gain the same advice that we received from the women in our lives.

Fantastic tool for women of all ages. I mentor many young females entering the workforce and the app is going to propel their confidence in multiple area! I can't wait to spread the word! I personally have found this app to be my daily support of confidence!

Congrats on the 🚀, @jennifer_greenberg and @sarah_stefanski. I'm curious how you're sourcing/vetting coaches. I wonder if this can become a marketing/branding opportunity for these coaches to expand their business to 1 on 1 sessions or other services.

Thanks so much, @rrhoover! We’re thrilled to have a community of female coaches speaking on a wide variety of topics. We first set out with the question - “where do women want a boost of confidence?” We asked our friends and the results were diverse, but everyone we spoke with had something they wanted to improve. So, we created a list of the most requested themes and researched coaches who were already speaking on those topics organically. Our background is in TV production at MTV so we worked with the coaches to create bite-sized audio sessions with both inspiring and actionable techniques. We’re always bringing on new coaches and will be uploading new sessions weekly to add more value to our subscribers. You bring up a great idea! We definitely want to expand the ways in which our coaches can interact with our community of women. These coaches have so much to offer and this is just the start!
