Alright Product Hunt community! 👋

I'm Caleb, and I'm thrilled to introduce FormSanitizer! Like many of you, I've been getting very tired and annoyed with getting a lot of spammy form submissions, wishing for a simple and cheap solution. That's why I decided to build FormSanitizer - a straightforward way to finally put an end to the spammy noise.

I've focused on making it incredibly easy to integrate with your code and packed in features like custom filters and random string detection to catch even the trickiest spam bots.

Has anyone else here struggled with form spam? What are some of the biggest headaches you've faced? I'd love to hear your experiences and answer any questions you have about FormSanitizer! Let's chat! 😊

@taniabell Thank you for your kind words and the vote!

Congrats on the launch, Caleb! The random string detection sounds especially clever and feels like a smart way to catch the weirder edge cases that typical spam filters often miss.

Caleb G.

@alex_sporenberg Thanks! The random strings were very common in my big list of spammy form submissions, they were always very annoying, so hopefully I won’t have to deal with those anymore!

I wish every form creator gets so many views and submissions that preventing spam becomes a problem—a good problem to solve.
Forms hosted on Hubspot prevent certain public email providers from signing up when enabled but this can be bypassed by using fake domains etc. Can FormSanitizer help with that? It would be a hard to set a pattern for it.

Congrats on launching FormSanitizer! While the anti-spam solution sounds promising, how does it handle sophisticated bots that mimic human behavior patterns to avoid false positives?

Caleb G.

@vivian_james Thank you! While I haven't tested it against those sophisticated bots, you can put in keywords that you may want filtered. The messages may sound human, but if it is talking about dog food or something, you can put in “dog” or “food” or “dog food” into the app, and it will filter out messages with those words in them. FormSanitizer will not keep the form from being submitted, but it will simply filter it before it sends it to your form provider. FormSanitizer is like the middle man. The form submissions are submitted and sent to FormSanitizer, then, if it doesn't contain any spam words or random strings, it will send it to your form provider. Hope this helps.

Nice!

Also I know about another problem where site owners pay for ads but get fake leads who fill and submit the forms. In our country competitor of particular site can buy that "service" and as a result you will be bombed with fake requests. The problem is that this fake submissions can affect price of your ad. As I know there is still no strong solution for this.
