@mckaythomas This is great! I love the idea, and new moms seems a great place to start, both from a financial and impact standpoint. How did you go about finding your first doctors?
"MessageMe-First Startup" I love it.
I used Linkydink (http://linkydink.io), a collaborative email newsletter, to "prototype" Product Hunt. More details here: http://www.fastcolabs.com/302315...
How are you acquiring users today, @mckaythomas, and which side of the market are you focusing on right now (doctors vs. patients)?
@mckaythomas can you do prescriptions or does it have to be a face to face interaction (eg. video call) to do that? regardless, love the concept and app design, and targeting moms initially makes a ton of sense
First time I met McKay I was blown away by his vision from high level down to tactics. And that he was genuinely someone I would want to work with over next decade
Report
@joshelman We connected. It was pretty clear from the get go. Startups are about great partnerships. With recruits and team members, with the industry you are in, with platforms, with specific journalists who believe early on. All partnerships. And investors are an important part of that.
First Opinion is, at it's most basic elements, a messaging platform. To help us prove out the idea and validate the service, we matched users with doctors on an existing messaging platform (MessageMe) all before writing a single line of code.
