RevenueCatBuild, analyze, and grow your subscription or app service
5.0 (143 reviews)
Subscriptions are the one part of the app I refuse to hand-roll. StoreKit receipt validation, renewals, grace periods, refunds — that's weeks of work with a very high cost of getting it wrong. RevenueCat also saved me from myself: my client-side "purchase completed" event was over-firing and told me I had 15 paying users. RevenueCat's server-side numbers said 5. Having a source of truth I can't accidentally lie to myself with is worth the whole integration.

PostHogLiterally every piece of SaaS that a product engineer needs
5.0 (243 reviews)
One tool instead of four. Product analytics, session replay, and feature flags on a pre-revenue budget — Mixpanel and Amplitude both wanted me to pay for the analytics and go find replay somewhere else. The session replays were what actually changed my product: I watched real users stall at the exact same onboarding screen and rebuilt it that week. Being able to write SQL against my own events instead of fighting a dashboard builder sealed it.

LinearThe product development system for teams and agents.
4.9 (429 reviews)
I evaluated Jira and closed the tab. As a solo founder my project tool has one job: get out of the way. Linear is keyboard-driven, opens instantly, and doesn't ask me to configure a workflow before I can write a ticket. It's also the only one where the API was pleasant enough that my AI tooling reads and updates my roadmap directly — my issues stay current because I never have to visit the app to update them.

Claude by AnthropicA family of foundational AI models
5.0 (946 reviews)
I'm a solo founder building an iOS fitness app — I'm the engineering team and the marketing team. Claude is the only one I found that handles both. Cursor is great inside the editor, but I needed something that could ship Swift in the morning and pull apart my funnel data in the afternoon. Claude Code running against my actual repo, Linear, and analytics replaced about three people I couldn't hire.

AppleThink Different
4.9 (63 reviews)
I went iOS-first on purpose, not by default. The on-device camera and motion frameworks let me give people real-time feedback on their form without a single frame leaving their phone — that's a privacy promise I can actually keep, and it's the core of the product. Add a subscription base that's used to paying for things and it wasn't a close call for a solo founder with one shot at a first platform.
