Container creates and runs Linux containers as lightweight VMs on a Mac.
Written in Swift for Apple silicon, it gives each container its own VM instead of one shared VM. It pulls, builds and pushes standard OCI images, so any registry works. Open source under Apache 2.0. Requires Apple silicon and macOS 26.

Hey Product Hunt, I'm hunting Container from Apple.
I picked it because it changes how containers work on a Mac. Most tools run all containers inside one shared Linux VM. Container gives each container its own lightweight VM, so each one is isolated from the others. It still uses standard OCI images, so your existing images and registries work as they are.
It's fully open source and written in Swift, so you can read how it works. It needs Apple silicon and macOS 26.
