  • Pros:

Easily record multiple tracks with no drift. No login required for guests. No plugin. Audio is backed up.

    Cons:

Firefox and mobile support missing at the moment. But that’s nitpicking.

Been using it since October and it has changed my workflow process. Editing takes WAY less time than it used to. Audio sounds so much cleaner than it used to.

  • Pros:

Love being able to see my guests while recording separate WAV tracks! I know that the progressive upload feature will be a lifesaver!

    Cons:

Some of my guests don't have Chrome and we've had to use other platforms. I prefer SquadCast, but sometimes it's not an option. :-(

I started using SquadCast in Fall of 2018 and haven't looked back. I no longer have to fight with audio drift issues in post-production. The library is super easy to navigate to find older recordings that I forgot to download immediately. These guys have made many improvements in the short amount of time I've been with them. And they LISTEN to what users are saying! Beyond podcast interviews, I've also used it to record sales calls. :-)

    Pros:

Drop dead easy and it works.

    Cons:

No cup holder (there aren't ANY - Squadcast Rocks

I had a call once where the internet was bad. Lots of half words coming across to my backup recording. Squadcast (recorded locally on their machine) sounded perfect. The best money you can spend.

    Pros:

Crystal clear, no audio drift, outstanding customer service

    Cons:

I'm looking forward to it being mobile friendly

I used to use Skype with eCamm, or the Zoom platform, but the quality varied form good to eh. With SquadCast the audio is always crystal clear. They're serious about always making improvements (there used to be an audio ducking issue that they completely solved), and they're extremely responsive in terms of customer service. It's super easy to use! I've recommended it to lots of people!

  • Pros:

It makes interviewing really, really simple.

    Cons:

I would like to see support for browsers other than Chrome, but so far that has not been an issue with any of my podcast guests.

On my podcast, I interview someone who has been through a very traumatic or unusual situation. These are people that don't normally get interviewed, so they usually need a little coaching. The last thing I would need is some type of technical process to walk them through, or a glitch that makes me interrupt their heartfelt story and start over. Squadcast has made these interviews super smooth. And editing is a breeze.

    Pros:

EASY to use! It just works. This has drastically improved my podcast production workflow.

    Cons:

No FF support or ability to record on Mobile

SquadCast helps me record my podcast interviews in studio quality without the fear of lost recordings. Everyone is recorded to separate wav files without audio drift, making post-production super easy!

    Pros:

Separate audio tracks saved in the cloud, excellent customer service, video of all 4 guests, can schedule interview ahead of time

    Cons:

Guests must leave their browser open. If someone gets off the “call” by closing their browser the recording stops for everyone.

As with anything, the better your microphone, the better the recording. The .wav files come in beautifully to Audacity so I can edit the show. I sleep better at night knowing there is a double layer of backup for the recordings. The guys who built this platform are helpful, accessible if you have questions, and because they are podcasters themselves, they understand what issues hosts deal with. So happy I found Squadcast.

  • Pros:

Solves the main issues of remote recording (progressive upload & audio drift). Ease of use & reliability make this a winner.

    Cons:

Needs additional pricing tiers for the occasional user. The word is this is in the works.

I've waited years to be able to endorse one of these browser based recording systems and SquadCast is the first one I can reliably recommend to other podcasters who want to produce great sounding, remote conversations. Congrats to the team who is also very responsive to the community and its users, a core component of a company you can rely on.

    Pros:

Clean recordings, high quality audio and NO drift. Very solid results and personalized customer care.

    Cons:

They're working on the UX to increase flexibility for hosts and guests.

SquadCast is doing a terrific job and pushing their product forward. UX improves every week but sonic quality (with either .wav or mp3 files) has always been terrific.

    Pros:

It just works. No worries about dodgy skype connections, or hoping a remote guest is tech-savvy enough. Good UI.

    Cons:

Video recording isn't yet available. That is a feature I'm waiting for - it's in the pipeline.

I've used Zoom, Google Hangouts, and Skype. They all work, but not as well as squadcast.

  • Pros:

Best audio quality. Pretty easy to use. Responsive to feedback and requests. Amazing support. actual SOLUTION based product

    Cons:

Levels meter needs a bit of work (but, hey, at least it has 1) and it would be nice to see it on other browsers.
