Document extraction with no templates: would this break on your invoices?
WorkflowOS launches on Product Hunt tomorrow and I would rather get honest feedback now than applause later.
The problem we kept hitting: most invoice and contract extraction tools want a template per vendor, or dozens of labelled samples, before the first useful result. Fine for a finance team with 200 recurring suppliers. Useless for everyone else.
So we went the other way. Drop in a PDF, an image or a text file. The AI detects the document type and pulls the fields that matter - vendor, customer, document number, issue and due dates, currency, totals, taxes, line items - each with a confidence score. No template, no training round.
The part I care most about: every extraction arrives as a draft. The workflow only completes after a person approves it. The AI never executes a payment and never sends anything on your behalf. Every approval leaves a confirmation record, and the full history exports to CSV or JSON.
Honest state of things, because you will find out anyway: it is early. Accounts are isolated at database level and files sit in private storage, but there is no SOC 2 and no accounting integrations yet - everything comes in by upload. Scanned documents extract worse than native PDFs.
