WhatsApp for Desktop - Beautiful Mac, Windows & Linux desktop client for WhatsApp

WhatsApp for Desktop gives you the possibility to have all your messages in all your chats synchronized on your PC. And do not worry about security, every message is encrypted so only you and the recipient can read it, hear it or see it.

Finally !
Enjoy!
I think adding "unofficial" to the title might help resolve a lot of confusion among folks.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try to make it more obvious.
Have been using WhatsMac for a while and like it. This is a nice client as well with the file attachment working. The use of official name does create a lot of ambiguity though.
I will consider changing the name if WhatsApp demands so. WhatsDesktop doesn't sound so bad.
Since no one is saying it: Works on ubuntu. I like it so far. In chrome was using 116MB of memory only that tab. As "app" uses 161MB. Seems to work really smooth congrats !
I'm happy you enjoy using it :)
media not reproducing, like videos and audio notes. Since last update now up to 209MB almost double than a tab in chrome.
The high RAM usage is because the app itself run on a custom build of Chromium browser. Nothing related to this changed in the last update, just the name and icon.
Beautiful job . It really preserved the feel of Whatsapp, but added refinement and polish. Nice work!
Thanks, Allan!
This looks really awesome! I know Whatsapp is notoriously against 3rd parties using their API. What are your thoughts about that?
Indeed, they don't third-party apps that use their API. But I'm not using their API, my app is just a wrapper around their own WhatsApp Web. I don't interfere at all with the communication/connection to their servers. I hope they don't consider this a violation too.
I see you added the unofficial and changed the logo. I thought for a sec that Facebook got to you and sent a cease and desist. It left two instances of the program on my laptop though.
I have not been contacted by Facebook/WhatsApp. I really wish they did contact me, though. I want to know whether they're ok with it or not. I'm in the process of changing the name and the icon. What OS are you using?
Windows 7
the web view is a great added feature that I have been waiting for. Still a number of product improvements that I think the team can make that I wrote about here:
what happened to it?
