Using Weftly to create branded clips for our news site: 5 clips in just over 5 minutes

We created Weftly to solve our own post production challenges in getting our grassroots news site videos published. I just prepared clips to publish to YouTube and I want to share how fast and easy it was.

I just took a long form video and created 5 clips, each with:

  • a branded chyron with the guest names

  • a branded like & subscribe

  • a branded end card

  • a branded thumbnail

  • a SRT transcript for subtitles

New: Edit videos from your iPhone in Discord using Weftly's MCP server

Steve on our team hooked OpenClaw up to Discord and drove Weftly's MCP server from a team channel on his iPhone. Upload a video in your Discord server, ask the bot to transcribe or find clips, and it handles everything, including payment via MPP, without leaving Discord.

The MCP architecture means this works from anywhere. Discord today, Claude Code yesterday, Gemini or LiteLLM tomorrow. Same Weftly tools, different front door. We believe this is how software is going to work, with a personal UI, digital payments for agents, and APIs fronted by MCP servers.

We built an MCP server where your AI agent pays for its own API calls

Hey Product Hunt

We're launching Weftly tomorrow and I wanted to share something that happened during development that I haven't been able to stop thinking about.

Weftly - MCP server for video:transcribe, clip, & publish from Claude

The MCP server for video editing. Let Claude and other AI agents transcribe, summarize, clip, and publish your videos in minutes. $0.50–$2.00 per job. No subscription, no API keys, no infrastructure to run. Connect it once and ask naturally: "transcribe this episode," "find my best clips," "cut a vertical short for TikTok." Your agent handles the conversation. Weftly handles the work. Payments via MPP using Stripe. No API keys, no checkout redirects, no human approving each call.
