Why are we still using flat 2D slides to teach complex K-12 science?

I’ve always found it crazy that we teach highly spatial, dynamic subjects like cell biology, physics, or engineering using static flat 2D images.
It makes it so hard for students to actually grasp the concepts

I personally think traditional 2D slides will still survive for quick business meetings, but for K-12 education, interactive 3D will absolutely become the new standard. Students today are gamers—they are used to interacting with 3D environments, not just looking at flat images.
I'm especially curious to hear from any educators, edtech founders, or parents here! Have you noticed students struggling to stay engaged with traditional presentations lately? What do you guys think?
