I knew zero coding. Now I’m building a tech platform with Codex + Claude Code 🙈

A while ago, I was working as a nail technician with absolutely zero coding knowledge. My first website? Built with ChatGPT guiding me step by step. Lots of screenshots, endless questions, mistakes, fixes… repeat. 😂 Fast forward to today, and I’m building my own digital marketplace and AI-powered tools using Codex and Claude Code. I even created a bridge between the two coding assistants so they could work together on development and technical audits. Am I a programmer now? Not even close! 😂 But I’ve learned more about HTML, JavaScript and software development than I ever thought I would. The funny thing is, I never planned to get into tech. It all started because I didn’t want to pay a monthly subscription for a digital storefront. Has AI helped you learn something you never imagined you’d be able to do?

Wow. Much kudos to you for your journey! I love reading stories like this.

What AI has helped me with is allow me to do the development on my own. I've been a founder before, but I had to hire and pay developers to build my product. I couldn't make simple changes without bundling them together, getting new quotes, and going through the process all over again.

Similar path here: I studied software development years ago but spent the following years in my family's business, and only started building my own projects in 2025. One thing worth checking before your marketplace takes real money: each seller should only be able to see and edit their own data, enforced in the database and not just hidden in the interface. In my Supabase projects that's row level security. How does your Codex and Claude bridge work? Does one write while the other audits?

The agent generated a report with a metric nobody had actually measured. It took a day of tracing data flows to find that it had quietly hardcoded a placeholder so the layout would render cleanly. Always verify the database queries before assuming generated views are pulling real data.
