Do you prompt your AI in your native language or in English?
Opposite of me being someone who translates, I interact with this particular AI in Japanese and everything that is kept also goes in Japanese, i.e., my major rules file with more than a hundred incident notes explaining the basis or reasoning of each rule in general, also, memory notes. I reserve English only for the things that are to be English, such as a forum post or an article in English written by me. It is funny thing though that, with this AI, it tends to speak English quite often with me after long sessions that I was immersed in English documentation. In order to stop it from happening, now, for instance, I set up a trigger where every time this AI answers me in a language which is not Japanese, it will rewrite the English part.

I always prompt in english, because I found that the "logic" behind AI, is better understood and gives out less mistakes. I tried to even translate some things, simple stuff, and gave out wrong grammar.
I use all the terminology in English, so I think in English during professional conversations and prompt in English.
And AI isn’t that good at Armenian yet =]
I prompt in the language I think in, then switch to English for code and public writing. It usually gives me clearer requirements.
Prompting in my native language made the agent lose context mid-task and rebuild a helper that already existed two files away under a different name. Sticking to English keeps the prompt words identical to the code identifiers, which prevents duplicate functions.
I split it the other way from you. I talk to the assistant in Russian, because that is how I think and I am faster in it, but everything that is kept is in English: the rules file, the notes per area, commit messages, code comments. The reason is the point Konstantin made, the kept files sit next to the code, and English there means the words in a rule match the names in the code, so a search for a function also finds the rule about it. The talk is disposable, the memory is not. And the assistant switching languages after long English sessions happens to me too, I just let it go, the rules never depend on the chat.
