Why I built Chat Export
by•
I kept losing valuable ChatGPT work because copy/paste destroys formatting and most “export” tools upload your chats to servers.
So I built Chat Export with one rule: everything stays on-device (offline + encrypted, no accounts, no cloud).
It preserves images, code blocks, tables and exports to PDF / Markdown / HTML / TXT in one tap.
If you try it, tell me: PDF vs Markdown - which do you need most and why?

Most common use I see: people printing PDFs for audits/docs, and building Markdown knowledge bases from AI chats. What’s your workflow?
If your chats include client info, credentials, drafts, or internal docs — exporting to a server is a non-starter. That’s why it’s fully local + encrypted.
Drop a weird formatting case you care about (tables, long code blocks, mixed images) — I’m collecting edge cases to improve parsing.
