Why do so many brands remove 3D viewers after adding them?

Over the years, I’ve noticed that some businesses experiment with adding 3D viewers to product pages, only to remove them later and revert back to static images or videos.

In your experience, why does that happen?


Is it performance? Lack of interaction depth? Poor integration into the buying journey?
