We’re bringing FireCut to DaVinci Resolve!

Hey friends 👋

I first created my YouTube channel in 2017 when I was a student. In my early YouTube days, I would basically just do everything myself, but making good content takes a lot of work – there’s scripting, filming, editing, posting. Editing is easily the most time-consuming part of the whole process.

Two years ago, we realised there are so many tasks involved in editing that could be automated. And that’s where we got the idea for FireCut from. My friend Suhail and I collaborated to build the AI assistant we needed within our team to edit videos faster and to a higher quality.

We initially launched FireCut as a plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro. Since then, we’ve added a ton of new features that we hadn’t even thought of at the beginning, all based on user requests – filler words detection, animated captions, automatic background music suggestions, and so on…

But the biggest request in these two years has been: “Please bring FireCut to DaVinci Resolve”

I’m so excited to share that we’ve finally delivered – we are launching FireCut for DaVinci Resolve today!

Please do support our launch: https://producthunt.com/products/firecut-ai/launches/firecut-for-davinci-resolve

This is actually a ground-up redesign of our original plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro, and that’s because we really value building a tool that’s well designed for a specific purpose. Think Apple software-hardware seamless integration mindset.

I would love if you would check it out and tell us what you think, and also what new stuff you’d like to see in FireCut that could help you with your editing workflow. We’re still in the early days and would love your feedback. Thank you!

This is awesome! Automatic filler word detection and captions are exactly what every editor needs.
