🚀 New Update: Smarter Dialect Detection Is Here!

by•

Hey everyone. A quick but exciting update! Text2Query just got a lot smarter at understanding what kind of SQL flavor your database is using.

Think of it like this: most tools speak “generic SQL.” But Text2Query now understands the nuances effortlessly switching between different SQL flavors and MongoDB, like someone fluent in multiple dialects.

Now, when you upload a schema, the app automatically detects whether it’s PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB, and adapts the queries and syntax accordingly.

🗂️ Just upload your schema. Text2Query detects the dialect instantly and:

  • Writes queries in the correct syntax (quotes, keywords, structure)

  • Applies reserved word rules (no more “user” errors!)

  • Adapts code formatting and explanations accordingly

This is more than autocomplete, it’s query generation with real semantic awareness and a code-switcher.

This makes the generated queries more accurate, readable, and ready to run out-of-the-box. Especially helpful if you’re using reserved keywords or mixing environments.

As always, thanks to all early users here on Product Hunt. Your feedback directly shaped this feature, and I’m thrilled to finally ship it 💪

Give it a try, and break it, with your schema and let me know what you think!
