I built a trading journal specifically for prop traders — looking for honest feedback

by

Hey everyone 👋

I’ve been trading futures with prop firms for a while, and I always felt that most trading journals don’t really fit how prop traders actually operate.

So I decided to build my own tool — TraderCore.

Instead of just logging trades, it focuses on things that actually matter for prop traders:

• Tracking payouts vs fees (are you really profitable?)

• Understanding consistency rules and risk limits

• Seeing what setups and times of day actually give you an edge

• Monitoring multiple accounts (challenge → funded lifecycle)

One thing that surprised me while building this:

A lot of traders think they’re profitable… but when you include challenge fees and resets, they’re actually negative.

That insight alone changed how I approach trading.

I’d love to get honest feedback from other traders or builders here:

👉 What’s the #1 thing you’d want to track in a trading journal?

👉 Do you currently use anything, or just spreadsheets?

Happy to share access if anyone wants to try it 🙌
