How do you decide what to cook from what you already have?
Hey everyone 👋 I’m building Stovah — an app to track what you already have at home and get recipe ideas based on those ingredients, so it’s easier to cook across meals and cut down on waste.
I’m launching on Product Hunt tomorrow, but I wanted to start here first because the community is great at calling out blind spots.
A few things I’m trying to get right:
Speed: getting from “here’s my pantry/fridge list” → “here are realistic options” without a long setup
Practicality: suggestions that match everyday cooking, not just perfect pantry scenarios
Habits: something you’d actually reopen during the week
Questions for you
When you’re stuck deciding what to cook, what’s your current workflow (notes app, memory, recipe sites, etc.)?
What’s the #1 reason you’d stop using an app like this after a week?
If you’ve tried similar tools, what felt missing?
If you’re open to it, tell me a bit about your situation (busy parent, student, meal prepper, etc.) — it helps me prioritize.
Thanks in advance — I’ll share the launch link tomorrow for anyone who wants to follow along.
