Honest feedback wanted: Built a Chrome extension to kill tab-switching for translations

by•

Hi everyone,

I built Translate Workspace to solve a simple but annoying problem: constantly opening new tabs just to translate text.

It lets you translate anything directly on the page you're reading, keeping your workflow intact.

I recently launched it and would love to get your honest feedback, thoughts, or support on my launch page!

Free to try, no credit card.

Thanks in advance. Brutal feedback welcome.

Google Chrome has built in tool for it.
Can you tell please, what is the advantage of your environment?

There are many differences, but let me list a few:

- Chrome's built-in translation only translates one-way text, meaning it only translates pre-written text. My extension's interface allows you to translate your own text as well. For example, if you need to reply to an email or post in a foreign language, Chrome's built-in translation won't work; you'll need to open a translation site in a new tab, translate what's written, and copy it. With this extension, you can translate by typing on the page you're currently on.

- Google's built-in translation translates the entire site; with our extension, you can select any text and translate only the part you want.

- You can customize your translations and outputs using your own AI API service. User APIs are stored locally, making it quite secure.

- Less friction:

You can assign a shortcut to our extension's translation window and start the translation process whenever you want.

Respects.
