Building AI financial assistent for E-commerce investors!

I’m building an AI-powered bookkeeping assistant for ecommerce founders that shows real profit, tracks costs, and keeps taxes in check. Right now it’s in the early demo stage, and I’m looking for guidance on what the smartest next steps are to validate the idea and grow it.

I’m also open to connecting with a potential co-founder or anyone with experience in SaaS, AI, or ecommerce who I can learn from. Any advice or tips would be hugely appreciated!

E-com accounting is a nightmare of different data sources, so you're definitely tackling a real pain point. For next steps on validation: I'd suggest manually doing the 'AI' work for 3-5 founders first (a concierge MVP). Have them send you their raw Stripe/Shopify exports, and you manually generate the profit/loss reports. If they refuse to pay for that service, they won't pay for the software. Tracking those specific validation milestones is actually why we built and launched ChangePoints today! Best of luck finding a co-founder.

Interesting direction, especially since ecommerce bookkeeping tools usually fail not because of accuracy, but because users don’t consistently feed them clean data.

At this stage, the key question is less about features and more about behavior: what’s the smallest action you expect a founder to repeat daily that actually builds trust in the system?

Curious, are you seeing users naturally coming back to check insights, or is the challenge more on getting them to consistently log inputs first?
