TwelveLabs Raises $100M Series B to Build the Future of Video Intelligence
We just raised $100M β here's what we're building
Hey everyone! TwelveLabs just closed a $100M Series B and wanted to share what we're working on for anyone who hasn't come across us before.
We're a video AI company. The core problem we're solving: video is the richest record of reality we have, but machines still can't really understand it. Most systems just convert footage to text and call it a day. We think that's leaving a lot on the table.
Our platform has two main models:
Marengo handles video embeddings, so you can search and retrieve footage based on what's actually happening visually, not just metadata or captions
Pegasus handles video analysis and reasoning, so you can ask questions, generate summaries, and pull insights from your videos
Together they power the Video Cognition System we're building. Think of it like giving machines a real memory for video, searchable down to the exact second.
We're grateful to NEA, NAVER Ventures, Amazon, Radical Ventures, Korea Investment Partners, Index Ventures, Quadrille Capital, and Red Bull Ventures for their support.

Congrats on the raise! Huge milestone π
Video understanding feels like one of the next big infrastructure layers. Most workflows still treat video as captions or metadata, but so much useful context lives in the visual timeline itself.
Curious how TwelveLabs handles mixed signals like speech, scene changes, objects, actions, and on-screen text when deciding the most relevant timestamp for search results.
