Why I built this (a web designer with no dev background)
I'm not a developer. A year ago I couldn't write a line of backend code.
But I kept seeing the same story in tradie Facebook groups. Someone does a solid job, client claims they caused damage that was already there, no proof, dispute goes nowhere. It happens constantly and nobody had built a simple tool to fix it.
So I built TradieCheck. It took about 8 months of nights and weekends, a lot of dead ends, and more "what am I doing" moments than I'd like to admit.
The app does one thing: documents site condition before work starts. Photos, GPS, timestamp, client signature. Two minutes at the start of a job that could save thousands in a dispute.
Built specifically for Australian tradies — tilers, painters, plasterers, carpenters, anyone who shows up to a client's property and touches something.
Happy to answer anything about the build, the problem, or how it works. And if you know a tradie who's been burned by a damage dispute, I'd love to hear their story.
