Like The Godfather, TT's sequel is even better the first. What was once a useful tool is now a fully-fledged productivity app. Because you can use code inside the notes and reorder as you like AND because it's IN FRONT OF YOU all the time, it actually starts to become more practical for me to use than project management tools like Trello. Trello does a good job of capturing everything, but the reminding part is lacking. Thought Train 2 is at the intersection of list making and list managing and combines and leapfrogs every other tool you think you need to collect, remember and crush your tasks once and for all.

Been using v1 since launch, v2 has some awesome feature upgrades! Mobile App would be awesome!

Pros:

Easy to use, Great UI (Dark Mode option)

Cons:

Haven't found any.

Thanks Wayne. I'm working on a mobile PWA at the moment, really just to test the waters and see how the app feels and can improve on a handset.

Thanks for the Windows version!!! been looking forward to it. I've been using the mac version for my work computer, and loving it. So I've been looking forward to the Win version for my home comp, so I'm happy it's here. Thanks!! Loving TT for my primary focused task list!!! Very cool idea. Keep up the good work - thanks.

@stuart_o_brien Ah man thanks Stu! I can't believe what a great response from the Windows cats like yourself I've gotten, I'm excited to bring some even better ways to manage your notes across devices too. I won't give away too much but imagine business vs. personal notes and tasks you want to send across machines ;)

Big fan of V2. Did play around with V1 for a day or so when it came out ages ago, but didn't seem polished enough, so gave up. V2 is a huge step up and I've found myself actually using it! Still getting used to the shortcuts, but overall, a smart 'lil app.
Marc Perel
@jbagley got some awesome new features coming too like search and tagging J, even more shortcuts to get used to 😂

Super simple to use.

Pros:

I used to use notes on Mac and TT2 is far more user friendly and save me having to switch between programs all the time.

Cons:

None.

Marc Perel
Happy to be saving you hours, one tab-switch at a time!

I'm very interested to see if this could replace Drafts!

Pros:

seems great

Cons:

not sure just yet

Marc Perel
Thanks Alex, just drop me a line when you're used to the app or if you need any help!

Question: is there a way to bring up the toolbar with a keyboard shortcut?
Marc Perel
@sashadobrenko Indeed there is, CMD+ALT+T or CTRL+ALT+T on Windows.

Had to uninstall it on windows. After a computer restart the notes would disappear. Also the auto startup never worked. Pity.
Marc Perel
@presbray ah a pity I’ll take a look at this!

Ohh wow, yet another monthly subscription... Fairly basic app, no server-side features, and crawl-speed development process. Why would anyone pay MONTHLY for this? This whole subscription ecosystem is really getting bizarre: every joe who can code an app on a napkin wants to get paid monthly for it. Insane.

After installing, I locked my computer and walked away. When I came back, there was a binoculars icon on the menu bar, but only on the lock screen. I had never seen this before. Google said that it meant that either remote management was on or that my screen was being recorded. Scary. Quitting Thought Train removed the binoculars icon. Why does that show up when Thought Train is running?
