Thank You so much @adityavsc! Really appreciate your support! We welcome you and @eugenia_russell to write a story for us. All you need is a single sheet of paper and a pen/pencil! And if you want to illustrate your story as well, then fantastic! P.S: You can type out the story too, that's cool with us! : )

Hi :) I am the Founder of The WALLOBOOKS Project. Thank you so much for cheering our work and appreciate the time you may take to read this long post. I wish to tell you all, why we started. Pause for a moment. Stop, and think about why you are reading this. All the books we have read, shared and lived by – they made us who we are today, at this very moment. They brought you here. Now, imagine living in a blue tent with your family and at school, reading a story about how plastic is harmful to the world. Storybooks don't have to be broken. Children live in such tents in communities that we walk past every day in our neighborhood, city and country. They live in Delhi, Dacca and Lagos as well as in conflict zones in the Sudan. The UNHCR has a code for it. Item Nr. 2617. Waterproof, rotproof and UV-resistant reinforced plastic tarpaulin designed for long outdoor use in all climates. Made of woven HDPE fiber, laminated on both sides with LDPE coating to maintain sheltering capacities for one year. Fire retardant is optional. The UN loves blue. A line of six UNHCR logos must be printed on both sides of the sheet. Typeface Helvetica Bold. Color Pantone Blue 300 CMYK C = 100 % M= 45 % Y=0 % K=0%. Across the five meter side, placed one meter from the bottom edge of the five meter side. The combined height of the emblem and logo is 55 cm. Near the railway station in Delhi, Makoko in Lagos and Yida in Sudan — blue, is not the preferred color for tents. It is yellow. Sometimes pink. And 55 cm is what you cut to make a window. This is what inspired us. We started a movement of hope for children in adversity in 2014. Today, we are opening what we have created for all children. We need a different kind of storybook. A storybook that anybody can write. A storybook that is real, human and irreverent. One, that is always not a fairy tale. It should cost nothing. It can be written by people like you and us, and the hundreds of children we serve. It needs only a single sheet of paper. It has eight pages of magic inside. Experience it for yourself at wallobooks.org ---- If you are a writer, we invite you to join a movement to write magical storybooks for children in adversity. Anybody can write and remember, our storybooks need just a single sheet of paper. ---- If you are a Parent, you can sign-up to a brave, new way of discovery for your child and become a part of a movement of hope for other children in adversity. ---- If you are a Teacher, you can mail us to find out how we can support your work in your classroom. and help you innovate, learn and grow yourself. ---- If you are a Scientist, Musician, Artist or Engineer, join our Re:Imagine Paper community and help us break the walls that surround our children, with your ingenuity. Thank you for giving me your time. Let's break a wall. PS. I write on Medium :) Sanjukt Saha sanjukt@wallobooks.org

@sanjuktsaha @wallobooks I have a story from ancient Greek mythology here for you. Hope you enjoy it and if it is suitable for your project you may use it. Have a good weekend. The story of Alcestis - A retelling of an ancient Greek myth - Alcestis was the beautiful young wife of Admetus, king of Pherae, Thessaly. She lived with her husband in a wonderful palace and was loved by her people. Among their friends were the god Apollo and the Greek hero Heracles. One day Admetus became very ill. Apollo, who was also god of medicine, came over to see him. The king was very poorly indeed. Apollo said that the Fates wanted to take a life but if a friend or relative wanted to die in his stead, then Admetus would live. ... Nobody was willing to give their life. Not even his parents, who were very elderly, wanted to die in his place. Then the lovely Alcestis came forward: she thought nothing of giving her life to save Admetus. So the queen died instead in the midst of much lamentation. Thanatos, the god of death, came and took her. As these events took place, Heracles, who was a good friend, stopped by. Out of courtesy and hospitality, Admetus ordered the servants not to mention the mourning for the queen. The feast went under way and only by accident one servant let the news slip. Heracles was so saddened. He immediately abandoned the feast and rushed out in the street to catch Thanatos. Of course Thanatos was not going to give up Alcestis lightly and a great single combat ensued. Heracles, a son of Zeus, won and took Alcestis back to her palace. Her strength was restored in three days. Word count: 247 Recommended illustration: Alcestis and Admetus, ancient Roman fresco (45-79 AD) from the House of the Tragic Poet, Pompeii, Italy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad...

Hi :) I am Swastika. I am a Co-Founder of The WALLOBOOKS Project and the Chief Executive Officer of our tiny Not-for-Profit. You can connect with me on Linkedin too. We are re:imagining Paper for children. It is the oldest means of expression for humanity, and a very articulate one at that. Won't you agree? I am from a little town near the Himalayas, called Kurseong. I lead an amazing team deeply passionate about education. Together with a remarkable community of writers from all over the world, we have created a magical storybook that needs just a single sheet of paper to work. Here are one of my favorites, to experience for you all :) It is written by Roxanna Azimy from Iran and Nanna from South Africa. Download and print on a single sheet of paper. We work with hundreds of children in adversity, for whom our storybooks are a window in the walls that surround them. If you are a pioneering parent, you can sign up your child too and become a part of our simple movement of hope. It is free for every kid :) PS. I am at swastika@wallobooks.org Cheers, Swastika Gurung

@wallobooks @swastikagurung1 Congratulations on the launch! The WALLOBOOKS Project could be addressing the need gap - 'An off-screen alternative to digital quiz' posted on my problem validation platform - https://needgap.com/problems/154... . You're welcomed to explain how WALLOBOOKS solves that problem so those who need it can find it easily.
Swastika Gurung
